Our History

Piedmont was formed in late 2008 out of the ashes of the real estate downturn, as a need for diversifying a land development company’s service lines, and to engage public and private-sector clients in the land development business. We have grown from two to seven employees – just the right size to provide personal service to our valuable clients.

Our Mission/Philosophy/Values

Piedmont’s mission is to provide timely, cost-effective, personal service to our clients, by providing value-added, quality design and processing services for land development projects and assure the client’s success. We believe in working efficiently using the latest technology. We value and are grateful for the client’s business above all. We believe in treating everyone with professional courtesy and dignity, and hold respect for all people regardless of business and points of view. Developing strong, diplomatic relationships with our clients and all entities that hold the fate of your project in their hands is of utmost importance to us.

Management Team and capacity

Piedmont’s principals are Ed Wormald, PE, and Mike Wiley, PE, Prof LS. With the staff of seven employees, Piedmont is licensed to practice engineering and land surveying in the States of Maryland and West Virginia, and the Commonwealth’s of Virginia and Pennsylvania. With our affiliates, we can also provide landscape architecture and forest resource services in Maryland. We have the ability to handle the small single-lot development projects to complex mixed-use developments over 1,000 units.
